Calcutta International School Model United Nations is a three day simulation of a varied mixture of national and international committees that will be discussing matters on a scale very rarely seen in an MUN conference.

This is the inaugural edition of CIS Model UN, an event that we hope will one day become a long-standing tradition. We hope to provide delegates with a lens through which they can view the world and its complex mechanisms. CISMUN offers the prospect of debate and discourse over an eclectic range of topics, some conventional and focused on real world issues and others rather more fantastical in nature. Participants will develop their ability to engage in diplomacy, understand complex problems and most importantly, find viable and practical solutions to some of the most multifaceted and complicated issues of our time and culture.

As the inaugural edition of a conference, we fully understand and appreciate any concerns of inexperience and can only offer assurance that the Core Committee of CISMUN2015 is composed of award winning veteran MUNers who have strived to create an innovative structure for debate. The spirit of a Model United Nations is one of cooperation, discovery, compromise and above all, debate. We intend to uphold that spirit to the best of our ability, but also to reinvent the systems and structure behind the scenes to create a more dynamic and stimulating Model UN conference.
